We had a huge update, and Valve cut off many things. In general, removed the map Dust 2, and for some reason, added not Tuscan as everyone expected, but Anubis for the first time since 2020, then it was added. Like all of the maps, Anubis has a clear middle, there is a pass to the left to one point pass to the right to another spot, with all of this connected by the canals, so, you can do rotations. Yes, it is not super-fast rotations, but it is possible to move from one point to another.
It seemed like the right moment for Valve to make significant changes to the game, with the CT meta reaching an all-time high due to the M4A1-S's advantages over the M4A4 and the map pool becoming stale. Now that meaningful adjustments have been made, the game will undoubtedly undergo a noteworthy transformation in the next months.
This map deserves to be added, but Tuscan is also worthy to be not forgotten, and here we again disagree with the developers. It was necessary to add two maps and remove the two most popular maps, namely Mirage and Dust 2. By the way Dust 2 in the Pro games is not such a popular map as you can see at the last major, it took the last place in pics. It was played very rarely, but at the matchmaking was played much more often. So, Anubis will undoubtedly be used more often because it's still a map on the Major, appearing on other platforms and making people play here.
However, they could add Tuscan and remove Vertigo because this map during the time showed that it was all about nothing, no one enjoyed it, but it just played. When it comes to balance, they didn’t fix the bugs in a year and a half. So, all the same, more maps should have been added.
Moving on to the next point, they have fixed the M4A1-S. Remember when all the players said that M4A1-S is imba and that something should be done with it? Finally, the developers heard it. They reduced the damage factor by 5 points.
On the one hand, if they hadn't told you, you wouldn't have noticed the difference. This M4A1-S at the long distance doesn't kill in the body with 4 shots as it did before - it kills with 5 and that means you spend more time, and more bullets, while the amount of ammo is small enough. So, at a distance, it will make a difference. These changes seem pretty reasonable.
Now the good old M4A4 will be taken without a muffler. There are all the same 30 bullets and damage. Rifle brings slightly more or the same, but the control still has nuances. For the Pros, there are no problems, but for an average user, it will be a problem. At the last major, normal M4A4 without a muffler seldom took, maybe 1-2 players used it, so all played with a common muffler.
Keep going, the developers have removed 5 bullets from the AWP. This upgrade would have happened sooner or later. However, the community would not have wanted it. Because the AWP in this game is some imba, especially in the hands of such monsters as Zyw0o, S1mple, and dev1ce.
For example, if you look at the rankings of the best players in the world in all recent years, you will most often see a sniper like s1mple or dev1ce, Zyw0o. We have a bunch of snipers in the top 5 here, and only N1ko sometimes could get in or someone else. Consequently, it shows that the AWP - is also a story that had to be somehow fixed, and respectively, they decided to leave only 5 bullets in a cluster of AWP.
On the one hand, as if you're standing and checking something and nothing bothers you - you're fine, but when rivals smoke you, you start shooting through it, you run out of ammo, respectively you spend a few seconds more of time. These couple of seconds could help the attacking players set the bomb and take the round.
Of course, professional players never like to add something new that is apparent cases, but everyone should understand that we have to learn new maps, and this will only benefit CS:GO.
