On December 13th 2024, MOUZ became the first team to reach the semi-finals at the Perfect World Shanghai Major. Although the series started off rough with The MongolZ leading with a 9-3 scoreline on Ancient, MOUZ brought it back, winning 16-14 in overtime. Despite the demotivating loss on map one, The MongolZ kept up the fight on the second map, Nuke, securing a short 7-5 lead in the first half. However, MOUZ was high on confidence and won eight rounds in the second half, closing the game out 13-9, and winning the series.

While such a victory means a lot to MOUZ as it puts them one step closer to becoming champions, it means a lot more to the team’s Swedish rifler, Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin. Things finally worked out for him in his third major, given that he lost the quarterfinals of the Majors in Antwerp (with Ninjas in Pyjamas) and Copenhagen [with MOUZ). He shared his feelings to HLTV in detail after the match.

What did Brollan say?

When asked about how it felt winning the series, Brollan said: “It feels amazing, I'm really happy. It was a really nervous game, I really wanted to take a step further than the quarter-finals, so it feels really good to be top-four and I'm looking forward to the next matches. The stage was amazing and it was really nice to play.”

When asked about the underwhelming start to Ancient, Brollan said: “On Ancient we lost a 4v2 in the first pistol. We wanted to play too perfect, maybe, because we were a little bit afraid of taking duels. Maybe a lot of nerves coming into the match. We lost a lot of clutch situations, mzinho maybe one or two times. Just a bad start overall that we didn't handle that well, but we did it pretty well in the end.”

When asked about who they look forward to playing next, Spirit or Liquid, Brollan said he would prefer playing against Spirit: “Compared to Spirit, we played them a lot, I think four times this year and we beat them three times, they beat us once. We feel comfortable going into that game, and we'll see how today how it'll go today with how they'll perform as a team.“

Shortly after his game, Team Spirit beat Team Liquid, meaning that Brollan will be getting the matchup he wants.
