Following ESL Impact Season 6, NAVI has joined ENCE, TSM, Astralis, and Virtus.pro in pausing their women’s CS teams.
The team consisted of Wiktoria “vicu” Janicka, Hania “Hanka” Pudlis, Angelika “Angelka” Kozłowska, Mayline-Joy “ASTRA” Champliaud, and Marta “D7” Asensio.
NAVI signed its first women’s competitive roster in April 2022, signing the all-Polish lineup previously known as Totalne Gituwy ahead of ESL Impact Season 1. The team won the IESF Women’s World Championship and earned three consecutive runner-up finishes at ESL Impact tournaments.
The roster later underwent changes, adding the Portuguese Marta “D7” Asensio and French Mayline-Joy “ASTRA” Champliaud. The updated lineup ended their run with a top-four finish at the ESL Impact League Season 6 Finals.
The future of the players remains uncertain, but the players have stated their interest in sticking together as a team, though they might pursue individual paths if necessary.
What did NAVI and the team say?
“We decided to leave the women’s competitive CS2. Thank you for all these years, Javelins!” NAVI posted on X.
Angelka responded to this post by reflecting on her departure: “I would like to thank you for the last 2.5 years in NAVI, it was one of the best periods of my life. Going to tournaments, meeting new people, the opportunity to grow and most of all the home that NAVI gave us through which we could constantly develop. I will be grateful to the end of my life for this opportunity, forever in the heart of NAVI.”
Hanka also expressed gratitude for her time with the organization but also voiced concerns about the broader implications for women’s competitive CS2: “Sad news not only for us as a team but also for woman scene. Another big org leaving woman scene, it hurts but hope dies last they say.” She also highlighted the understated nature of the announcement, adding, “Announcement doesn’t show it – but we did incredible things under NAVI what we should be proud of.”
The other teammates echoed these sentiments, sharing messages of gratitude while also affirming their eagerness to find a new organization. vicu has previously posted on December 20th that “we are looking for an organization as 5, but I am also open to individual offers.”
