The decision to bench volt stemmed from challenges with team dynamics, according to GamerLegion head coach Ashley “ash” Battye. He revealed that the team struggled with balancing roles, particularly when it came to playmaking responsibilities.

volt initially joined GamerLegion in July 2023, transitioning from Into the Breach after both teams achieved remarkable playoff runs at the BLAST.tv Paris Major. During his tenure with GamerLegion, volt maintained a 1.00 average rating and made his final appearance at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, where the team secured a 12th-14th place finish.

The decision to remove volt from the active roster follows the addition of Oldřich "PR" Nový, who joined the squad from MOUZ NXT to replace Timur "FL4MUS" Marev. Reports also indicate the GamerLegion is close to finalizing a deal with Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) for Fredrik "REZ" Sterner.

While the GamerLegion goes through a massive overhaul, it’s current team consists of the Swedish Erik "ztr" Gustafsson, the Danish Sebastian "Tauson" Tauson Lindelof, the Hungarian Henrich "sl3nd" Hevesi, and the Czech Oldřich "PR" Nový.

What did volt and GamerLegion say?

GamerLegion announced their decision over X, posting: “After 540 days in our starting roster and two Major runs, volt has been a key factor in our success. His spirit and discipline, both as a player and as a teammate, are qualities that are hard to match. After careful consideration, we have made the decision to move him to the inactive roster. It has been a pleasure to witness his development as a player, and we’ll always be grateful for his contributions. We wish you the very best, Seb.”

“In our setup, FL4MUS often had to shoulder an excessive playmaking load, which occasionally led to reliance on his aggression while others lacked the same natural instinct,” GamerLegion head coach ash explained. “volt is an exceptional player and one of the finest teammates I’ve worked with. He’s undoubtedly capable of competing at the highest level and will likely find a place on a top team soon. We’ll miss him greatly and wish him all the best.”

volt shared his thoughts in response to the news on X: “Benched in GamerLegion from today. Grateful for the endless experiences & memories and wish the best to all the staff/players who I’ve had the pleasure to work with.

He also expressed his interest in joining a new team, stating, “I’m super motivated and open for offers to continue playing.”
