On October 23rd, 2024, the Counter-Strike community was pleased to hear some informative announcements from YaLLa Esports. For those tuning in for the first time, YaLLa Esports are famous for organizing the YaLLa Compass events we see every year. In today’s announcement, they have unveiled three events planned for 2026 as well as shared format and prize information regarding their upcoming events in 2025.

In 2026, YaLLa Esports has planned:

  1. A LAN event in Qatar during the first quarter of the year (January - March)
  2. A LAN event in an undisclosed location during the second or third quarter (April - September)
  3. A LAN event in the United Arab Emirates during the last quarter of the year (October - December)


What’s the format for 2025?

There are two events planned for 2025: YaLLa Compass Spring and YaLLa Compass Fall. Both events will follow the same format despite taking place different times of the year. Each event will sport three open qualifiers:

1. Contenders Stage

  • Format: 16-team BO3 Swiss System.
  • Attendees: All teams invited based on Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
  • Progression: Top eight proceed to next stage.

2. Main Swiss Stage

  • Format: 16-team BO3 Swiss System.
  • Attendees: Eight teams from Contenders, eight invited based on Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
  • Progression: Top eight proceed to next stage.

3. Playoffs

  • Format: 12-team BO3 single-elimination bracket.
  • Attendees: Eight teams from Main Swiss, four invited based on Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
  • Progression: Top two from each open qualifier proceed to closed qualifier.
  • Prize distrubtion:

1. $12,500

2. $3,500

3-4. $1,500

5-8. $1,000

9-12. $500

 

The three open qualifiers will feed into a closed qualifier which the following format will govern:

  • Format: 16-team BO3 GSL-style bracket.
  • Attendees: Six teams from open qualifiers, 10 invited based on VRS.
  • Progression: Top eight proceed to LAN.
  • Prize distribution:

1. $37,000

2. $17,500

3-4. $6,000

5-8. $2,000

 

After the open and closed qualifier(s), we’ll finally get to the LAN Finals where the best of the best will compete for the immense $750,000 prize pool. Out of this, $600,000 will be set aside for each LAN and $150,000 to be distributed across the qualifiers as specified above. The LAN finals will obey the following format:

1. Group stage

  • Format: 16 teams split into two BO3 GSL-style groups.
  • Attendees: Eight teams from closed qualifiers, eight invited based on VRS.
  • Progression: Top three from each group proceed to playoffs. First place goes to semi-finals, second and third go to quarter-finals.

2. Playoffs

  • Format: Six-team BO3 single-elimination bracket. Grand finals Bo5.
  • Prize distrubtion:

1. $300,000

2. $130,000

3-4. $35,000

5-8. $15,000

9-16. $5,000

  • Closed qualifier: March 1-3 (2025)
  • LAN finals: March 15-20 (2025)

2. YaLLa Compass Fall

  • Open qualifier #1 (Contenders Stage): April 28-May 28 (2025)
  • Open qualifier #2 (Main Swiss Stage): June 21-August 20 (2025)
  • Open qualifier #3 (Playoffs): August 25-September 24 (2025)
  • Closed qualifier: October 21-23 (2025)
  • LAN finals: November 18-23 (2025)
