What Weapons to Use in CS2 Loadout

CS2 Loadout System

In CS2, your weapons and utilities heavily depend on your playstyle and the side you’re on. For instance, some weapons are better when rushing sites while others are better for defending. Here’s a breakdown of the best attack and defense weapon loadouts:

Best Attack Weapons Loadout

CS2 Loadout System

The attacking side, also known as the terrorist side has to plant the bomb, rush sites, and swiftly take down enemies. For this reason, they need explosive weapons that can quickly finish off opponents. The CS2 best loadout for the attacking side is:

  • Rifle: AK47 / Galil AR
  • Mid-Tier: MAC-10 / P90
  • Pistol: Glock-19 / Desert Eagle / P250

The AK-47 is the only choice when choosing a rifle from the T-side. With a one-shot kill on heads, it’s extremely effective at picking off enemies at any range. The magazine size and fire rate complement this damage, but you must learn the recoil pattern. With a heavy recoil, you’re bound to miss a lot of shots so make sure to practice with it. On the other hand, the Galil AR is perfect for players who prefer better recoil handling and a cheaper option than the AK-47. While it's lower in firepower, it gets the job done if you hit the right areas.

The MAC-10 is a T-side exclusive weapon but that’s not the only reason you should pick it. In particular, its high fire rate, accuracy, and damage-dealing capabilities make it an obvious choice when rushing enemies, especially on eco-rounds. If you want something with a larger magazine and a faster rate of fire, the P90 is perfect for that but it’s the most expensive SMG in CS2.

The Glock-19 is the default pistol on the T-side and provides balanced damage, range, and fire rate combination, perfect for eco rounds. However, if you want a higher damage and one-shot capability, get the Desert Eagle and pair it with any Mid-Tier weapon. Besides this, the P250 is an upgraded Glock in all aspects, and if you have the budget, always pair it with your rifles for maximum damage output.

Pairing:

  • P250 with AK-47 or Galil AR
  • Deagle with MAC-10 or P90

Best Defense Weapons Loadout

The CT side is the defensive side in CS2, as it has to save sites, defuse bombs, and stop enemies from rushing them. To do this, the player needs a combination of stealth, damage, fire rate, and range, and this loadout is perfect in all these departments:

  • Rifle: M4A4 / M4A1-S / FAMAS
  • Mid-Tier: MP9 / UMP-45
  • Pistol: P2000 / USP-S

The two main rifles the defense side uses are the M4A4 and the M4A1-S, where "S" stands for silencer. The choice ultimately depends on the player, as both weapons are nearly identical in stats. The only main difference is the silencer in M4A1-S, which improves stealth. FAMAS on the other hand is a cheaper weapon worth on eco rounds.

The MP9 is the alternative for the MAC-10 on the CT side, so it’s an immediate choice if you’re on a budget or eco-round saving for a rifle. The UMP-45 is also a good close-range SMG that can quickly kill your enemies, but most players prefer the MP9 for its rate of fire and damage output.

CT side has two default pistols, and both are equally good with one difference. The USP-S has a silencer which means you won’t show up on the radar but the P2000 has 1 extra bullet that may come in handy. Both can one-shot on heads and have a similar range and fire rate, so it comes to the player’s choice on these pistols.

Pairing:

  • USP-S with M4A1-S or MP9 / UMP-45
  • P2000 with M4A4

What Mid-Tier Pistols to Use in CS2 Loadout

CS2 Loadout System

Choosing the right pistol is essential on eco-rounds and with over five pistols on each side, it’s a hard decision. We made it easy by picking the best pistols for attackers and defenders:

Best Attack Mid-Tier Pistol:

For attacking, the CZ75-Auto is great. It can quickly dish out damage in close-range battles as a fully automatic pistol. An alternative is the Tec-9, with high magazine capacity and decent damage output and range.

Best Defense Mid-Tier Pistol:

On the defensive side, the USP-S is a good pick because it's accurate and silenced. This makes it ideal for picking out enemies quietly. P2000 is another great pick as it offers reliability and good damage with an extra bullet. You can also go for the P250 which is slightly expensive, but a great pistol for eco rounds where you need the damage.

What Rifles to Use in CS2 Loadout?

Rifles ultimately win you the game, and here are the best:

Best Attack Rifle Loadout

The AK-47 is unrivaled with its high damage, one-shot capability and it goes well in any scenario. There is a learning curve for the recoil, but learning this weapon is worth it.

Best Defense Weapon Loadout

Going for the M4A1-S or M4A4 will never fail you as they provide a high fire rate, one-shot headshots, and a good magazine capacity.

The AWP: This sniper deserves a separate section as it's handy in all situations. Whether you’re camping double doors at Dust II, or rushing enemy sites, the high damage and long-range capability make you a menace everywhere.

What CS2 Loadouts Use Pro Players?

CS2 Loadout System

Pro players choose specific loadouts according to their situation. They analyze the budget, rounds, scenario, side, and pretty much everything to make a decision. The most prominent weapons pro players can be seen with are the AK-47, M4A1-S or M4A4, AWP, USP-S, and the Deagle.

Understanding how to build CS2’s best loadout depends on your preference and playstyle. Any weapon can work in any scenario, it all depends on what situation you’re using them in.
