The series began with the veto process, where Astralis removed Anubis, and FlyQuest responded by eliminating Mirage. Astralis chose Train as their map pick, while FlyQuest opted for Ancient. The bans continued with Astralis removing Dust2 and FlyQuest taking out Nuke, leaving Inferno as the decider.

FlyQuest struck first on Train, punishing Astralis on their own pick. The Danish team failed to establish any presence on the T-side, managing to secure only two rounds in the first half. This allowed FlyQuest to dominate and build a comfortable 10-2 lead before swiftly sealing the map.

Astralis responded with renewed vigor on Ancient, bouncing back in style after their disappointing start. Their defense proved nearly impenetrable, allowing FlyQuest to claim just a single round in the first half. With an 11-1 lead at the switch, Astralis seemed poised for an easy win, but FlyQuest came alive in the second half, stringing together six consecutive rounds. However, Astralis kept their composure and shut down the comeback attempt, sealing a 13-6 victory to push the series to Inferno.

Inferno turned out to be a fierce contest, with both teams evenly matched in the first half, going into the break with a tied score. Moving onto the CT side, Astralis found themselves in a dangerous position, trailing 9-10 with little money to work with. Just as FlyQuest seemed ready to take over, they ran into a well-prepared B-site stack, handing Astralis a lifeline. That moment shifted the momentum, allowing the Danes to claw their way back and close out the game with a narrow 13-11 victory. With this hard-fought win, Astralis advanced to the next round while sending FlyQuest home from the tournament.

Astralis has struggled to find consistency since adding Casper "cadiaN" Møller to the roster late last year. Their performance dipped significantly towards the end of 2024, with a particularly disappointing failure to qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major. Despite these setbacks, their campaign at IEM Katowice remains alive following their hard-fought win against FlyQuest.

FlyQuest, on the other hand, entered the tournament with renewed hopes after bringing in AWPer Iulian "regali" Harjău. So far, this addition has shown promise, with FlyQuest taking down MIBR in BLAST Bounty. However, the team still has much room for improvement in their overall playstyle.
