Vitality and Eternal Fire secured direct spots in the semi-finals, thanks to their undefeated record in the tournament. Vitality continued its winning streak, taking down Astralis, Virtus.pro, and MOUZ without dropping a single map. Meanwhile, Eternal Fire matched their flawless record with victories over Liquid, G2, and Natus Vincere.
Spirit kicked off their campaign with a comfortable win over The Huns, but stumbled against MOUZ, dropping to the lower bracket. There, they bounced back, steamrolling FaZe and Virtus.pro to book a spot in the quarter-finals.
MOUZ, on the other hand, started strong with wins over Falcons and Spirit but fell short against ESL Pro League Season 21 champions, Vitality. This loss denied them a direct path to the semi-finals, forcing them into the quarter-finals bracket instead.
NAVI punched their playoff ticket by beating FURIA and The MongolZ, but their momentum was cut short by a first-ever loss to Eternal Fire. This pushed them into a brutal quarter-final matchup against Spirit.
This will be the fourth NAVI-Spirit showdown this year, with their previous battles taking place at IEM Katowice and BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals. While Spirit has historically had the upper hand, NAVI is not a team to be underestimated. With both squads hungry for a deep playoff run, this matchup is among the most highly-anticipated of the tournament.
G2 was the last to secure a spot in the playoffs, starting off their tournament by defeating Imperial, losing to Eternal Fire, and then bouncing back by clearing The MongolZ in dominant fashion in the Group B lower bracket final.
They will now be facing MOUZ in the quarter-finals, as they seek to reignite their rivalry in a rematch of their ESL Pro League Season 21 quarter-final. Last time, MOUZ barely secured a win over G2. As one might guess, G2 weren’t thrilled about it and will surely come prepared this time.
