On November 26th, 2024, Nabil "Nivera" Benrlitom announced on X (formerly Twitter) that his current organization, Revenant, has allowed him to explore his options. While this does cast doubt on Revenant’s commitment to having a long-term CS2 roster, given that they’re now just down to two players, Kamil "reiko" Cegiełko and Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea, Nivera’s future is also uncertain. Despite the struggle, Nivera is a well-known name in the VALORANT and Counter-Strike sphere, given that he has competed at the highest level in both scenes.

He said the following on X (formerly Twitter) regarding his time at Revenant and what’s next: "We worked hard as a team and I'm incredibly grateful to have played with some amazing people, but it's time to move on to the next chapter. Transitioning to CS has been an exciting challenge for me, and I'm very glad that it went very smoothly on a personal level. I can confidently say that I feel very comfortable with the game now, and I look forward to growing and evolving even more."

Nivera’s VALORANT career

Nivera’s name really hit the mainstream when he popped off in the VALORANT esports scene during his time on Team Liquid, forming a formidable duo with his infamous brother, Adil 'ScreaM' Benrlitom (a.k.a the human aimbot). Together, they made Team Liquid a force to be reckoned with in the EU region, having a successful run in 2021 as they made it to the semi-finals of the VALORANT Champions in Berlin, Germany.

However, after 2021, Team Liquid had a somewhat weaker showing the next year, missing one of three international events before the brotherly duo was let go by the organization. Next year, both Nivera and ScreaM were signed by Karmine Corp, a move that got fans excited for the year ahead. Unfortunately, though, the team were unable to produce substantial results, partially due to one of the players abandoning the team, forcing the rest to play with their assistant coach for a couple months straight.

Nivera's A Free Agent As He Finds His Footing With CS

Eventually, realizing that the glory days of VALORANT were behind him, he decided to shift back to Counter-Strike with the release of CS2. He posted the following on X (formerly Twitter) at the time:

“I am officially announcing my departure from the Valorant competitive scene. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter as I have reached a mutual termination agreement with KC, allowing me to pursue my dreams in CS (Counter-Strike) as a free agent. The game has always been in my mind, and deciding to take this step was not easy. Turning the page is always a bit daunting, but I believe it's the best decision for me to pursue what I love the most. I am highly motivated and confident that I can achieve great things in this new endeavor.

Valorant has played a significant role in my life and career, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunities it has provided. Playing alongside my brother, a dream since childhood, has been a highlight. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. A special thanks to all the incredible individuals I've had the privilege of playing with in past teams. I will continue to support them, and there will undoubtedly be unforgettable moments ahead. Once again, thank you for everything. I plan to stream this new adventure in the coming days. I am already grinding and looking to join a team.”

Nivera’s experience with VALORANT was invaluable, as it improved his decision-making, callouts, and command of the English language. He also kept in touch with Counter-Strike though it all, watching the biggest tournaments in CS:GO at the time. We hope someone of his talent is able to find a suitable team soon so he can finally make his impact on Counter-Strike.
