CS:GO has a huge following and a vibrant esports scene, producing incredible moments over the years. In 2022, some truly unforgettable moments will go down in CS:GO history. This article will look at the TOP-5 CS:GO moments of 2022.

CS:GO meta 2022

AWP is expected to remain a dominant weapon in 2023, as in 2022. Skilled AWPers will continue to use it to pick off enemies and control areas of the map. However, changes to the weapon balance or new weapons could shift the meta away from the AWP in the coming year.

Another potential trend for 2022 is an increased focus on individual skill and aim. While teamwork and communication will always be essential in CS:GO, individual players' skills are becoming increasingly crucial to a team's success. As a result, expect to see more teams and players focusing on improving their aim and other individual skills.

CS:GO best moments

S1mple’s “ace” against Ninjas in Pyjamas

This moment has occurred at IEM Cologne 2022. The group stage match against the Swedes was an easy walk for Natus Vincere, the highlight of which was s1mple's ace.  s1mple and Perfecto got into a tough situation for the defense - 2 vs. 5. It seemed like an accessible round for the Swedes, but Alexander proved otherwise.

The question is: would Alexander have been able to do the same if the rifle had 5 rounds already at that time? Whatever way you look at it, the large magazine allowed the snipers to be bolder and go for such adventures. Whether this highlighter is a reflection of s1mple's skill or another "joke of fate" on this year's top losers is up to you to decide.

m0NESY’s clutch 1 vs. 4 against MIBR

Ilya showed excellent play in this match at BLAST Spring Groups 2022.

It was probably easy to pre-identify this year's best highlight, but there are two unfortunate circumstances. Firstly, the games weren't played in an arena (it's hard to believe the reactions of the LAN-format crowd and teams), and secondly, the tournament stage was a qualifying one.

At the time, the level of opponents in G2 was too low, and the Brazilian was not even in the top 30. These facts aside, even if m0NESY played, it would always be difficult for him to stay on  B bombsite against terrorists. For FPL. In this case, there was no retreat, so Illya must have accepted this battle, knowing that he would be defeated.

His opponents not only lacked the right timing to kill m0NESY, but they also lacked good communication, albeit a minor one. Regarding views, community buzz, and hype surrounding the opponents, what happened was out of reach for even s1mple. Even if Alexander won HLTV's "Most Valuable Player" award, the award for the author of "Best Highlights of 2022" is reserved for Ilya Osipov.

Twistzz’s clutch 1 vs. 3 against NaVi

A gorgeous clutch by Twistzz at IEM Cologne 2022.  The European team had a great start to the year's first half, and the cherry on the cake in this mini-era was the triumph in Cologne. As it turned out later, the presented moment didn't help win the card, but it didn't save NaVi from defeat in the BO5 match.

The Natus Vincere players were to blame for the clutch: apart from the attempt to mine the bomb under a convenient trajectory for the opponent, sdy rather than s1mple happened to be with the sniper rifle in the end for some reason.

Ropz's “ace” against G2

IEM Katowice 2022 gave us too many unbelievable highlights.  This highlight has two versions: live (without the first kill) and replay. To preserve the degree of emotion, we attach the first one. Many viewers consider this to be the best finale of 2022: perhaps, without the score on the cards, it is really.

Be that as it may, the first of the two overtimes in this series was given to us by ropz with his legendary eise on Inferno. Undoubtedly, psychologically this highlighter was one of the hardest, but on the game side we have to hand it to the Estonian teammates, who sold their opponents beforehand. After a fairly easy hit on the broky our hero quickly changed his position to track the midrange, and it paid off in the form of killing JACKZ.

The rest is history, which ended with an empty AK-47 magazine, switching to the Desert Eagle and a clear headshot with a pre-pick.

Magixx and clutch 1 vs. 4 against FaZe

A unique moment happened at the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 tournament. Once upon a time, FlipSid3 was called the "major team" by analogy with "Eurocup teams" in soccer. Almost five years later, another team worthy of the same title appeared in the CIS. Spirit is rarely seen at big LAN tournaments, but this year's run in the majors gets a separate prize for our likes.

In Antwerp and Rio de Janeiro, the Dragons confidently made it to the championship stage with two different snipers: a sign that the team philosophy remains intact and will bear fruit. Boris Vorobiev's clutch is a decoration of Spirit's performance in Belgium and the entire May Majors.

Let's remember again about the opponent's mistakes factor: at this point, the FaZe players, already terrorists with a set bomb, forgot about the main default of matchmaking - to play for time. The roughest mistake was made by ropz, jumping on the bags, and the subsequent phrases were a matter of technique for magixx. Note that for the last headshot Boris risked the unsigned AWP.

Summary

In conclusion, 2022 was a fantastic year for CS:GO, with some incredible moments that will go down in history. From s1mple's ace to Maggix and his clutch. From IEM Cologne to PGL Antwerp Major. We can't wait to see what the future holds for CS:GO and the incredible moments that will come in the years to come. Write in the comments about your favorite highlight of 2022.
