Valve decided against using a typical release trailer to introduce the much anticipated Counter-Strike sequel. The creators posted three videos on YouTube detailing updates to the tick rate, dynamic smoke grenades, and maps.

The next game, Counter-Strike 2, will be released in the summer of 2023, giving us our first official release date for it. Valve thankfully created a restricted test beta so that few fortunate individuals may get started prior to the main release.

However, the CS2 beta has very restricted access, making it impossible for very many people to participate. Here is what we currently know about the restricted test beta for Counter-Strike 2.

The restricted test beta's start date is March 22, although there is no set end date. Limited test news will be posted on the Counter-Strike 2 blog, where players can keep up with them.

Expect the restricted test to expire before to the summer 2023 deadline for the full release of CS2. You will get a notice on the CS:GO main menu if you are chosen to take part in the Counter-Strike 2 restricted test. Over time, the beta will get more participants. The CS2 beta cannot be accessed with keys or drops.

The creators went on to explain that a variety of criteria, including playing on Valve's official servers, trustworthiness, and Steam account status, are used to determine which individuals are chosen.

In the event that you accept an invitation, click ENROLL to start the download. Only a fortunate, small number of CS:GO players have been invited so far, and as of June 7, the bulk of gamers still lack access. Various estimates place the access percentage at less than 1% of the whole CS:GO player base.

More players will be added "over time," according to Valve, who also advises that you “keep checking your CS:GO main menu to see if you have received an invite.” The beta has received multiple upgrades from Valve to add new maps and address bugs, but as of July 18, no further rounds of invitations have been sent out.

Does the Counter-Strike 2 beta need a key? CS2 restricted test beta does not need any keys or codes. Simply wait for the pop-up to appear in the CS:GO main menu to get your invitation.

On Overpass, the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive restricted test provides deathmatch, casual, wingman, and unranked competitive matchmaking. Additionally, Vertigo is now accessible, albeit only in Casual and Deathmatch.

You may report bugs in Counter-Strike 2 if you come across any throughout your time playing the game. You must heed their advice in order to accomplish so: "Send an email with the subject line "CS2LT Report" to cs2team [at] valvesoftware [dot] com."

Therefore, if you encounter a problem or anything out of the ordinary, try to report it so that the finished product may be as polished and full as possible.

Earlier, Valve changes CS2 logo on the eve of the release. Contrary to CS:GO, the Counter-Strike 2 logo has undergone a significant modification that has gone unnoticed up until this point.
