Chet is a critically acclaimed coach in tactical FPS games, with a solid track record in both VALORANT and CS:GO, meaning any team that signs him as their coach for CS2 can expect to see huge improvements in their roster.

On November 9th, 2024, Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg, one of the most successful and influential players in the Counter-Strike universe, confirmed his retirement to HLTV after a career that lasted almost two decades. f0rest won 23 LAN trophies and eight MVP medals during his time on Ninjas In Pyjamas. He also made HLTV's Top 20 Players of the Year in the rankings' first four CS:GO editions (adding to his two appearances in 1.6 in 2010 and 2011), peaking at No.2 in 2013.

On November 1st, 2024, fans got confirmation on one of the most spiciest rumours circulating the CS2 community, that is, Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač, G2 Esports’ star player, would soon be leaving the team. The rumour was initially started by French streamer and leaker Sebastien "⁠KRL⁠" Perez who tweeted back in August: “NiKo Set to Join Falcons in 2025. After initial talks fell through at the end of 2023, Falcons and G2 have now reportedly reached an agreement on the transfer of NiKo. NiKo was supposed to sign tonight, he didn't. He is waiting until tomorrow morning to give his final answer.“

On October 8th, 2024, several posts surfaced on the Counter-Strike subreddit, showcasing hilarious things players were doing in Casual game modes to farm extraordinary amounts of XP for the new Armory pass. Normally, people would play Premier or Competitive to get the most amount of XP but getting kills in a certain way yields much more. Of course, since such a task involves the whole lobby coordinating, Casual game modes have become most suitable for grinding the Armory this way.

On November 8th, 2024, as we approach the ever-incumbent Perfect World Shanghai Major European RMR, we look back on one of the most enigmatic teams we’ve seen this year: Astralis. The Norwegian team found themselves embroiled in controversy earlier in the year over the induction of Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller well past a deadline. However, even by acquiring their new IGL through questionable circumstances, the team lost several best-of-threes in a row before finally showing some results at BLAST Premiere World Final.

On November 13th, 2024, day one of the Americas RMR came to an end with some teams nearing elimination while others passed through with flying colors. One team stood out in particular, not because it’s insanely dominant, but because it’s very unpredictable: BOSS. BOSS is an org-less team, meaning that they are sponsored by no one and hence, its players aren’t paid active salaries - the only money they get is from winning.

On October 21th, 2024, Nemiga went on a historical run that left fans speechless as they bested UNPAID in the grand finals of the RES Regional Champions 2024. Apart from bagging the $150,000 prize, the roster took home the organisation’s first CS LAN trophy. It wasn’t an easy feat as the team had a packed schedule that day, playing Sangal in RES Regional Champions semi-final and against 3DMAX to qualify for ESL Pro League Season 21.

On October 30th, 2024, fans await one of the most anticipated events of the year in the CS2 esports circuit to commence: BLAST Premier World Final. The event will feature some of the best teams in the world such as Natus Vincere, G2 Esports and Vitality - Team Astralis also find themselves in the mix of such a stacked lineup, hoping to win it all. However, realistically speaking, Astralis’s chances of winning the tournament or making it far into the semi-finals look grim.

On November 14th, 2024, Wildcard became the first team in the Americas region to qualify for the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major in December. The #32 ranked team in the world kicked things off with a bang as they beat Team Liquid (#13) and paiN (#16) in their opening best-of-one games 16-12 and 13-10 respectively. Today, they went on to play against 9z (#25) for a chance to qualify for the Shanghai Major and they did not miss that opportunity.

On November 6th, 2024, PARAVISION moved their head coach, Ivan "⁠F_1N⁠" Kochugov, to their inactive roster. Given that the Perfect World Shanghai Major Europe RMR is just a few weeks away, coupled with F_1N’s recent controversy, the reason seems a bit too obvious. Some speculate, including Russian insider Alexey "⁠OverDrive⁠" Birukov, that part of the reason pertains to the fact that former Virtus.pro skipper Dastan "⁠dastan⁠" Akbayev is now available. Even though F_1N was registered as the team’s coach for the RMR, dastan would still be able to assist the team outside of matches.

On November 5th, 2024, The MongolZ secured their third international title of 2024 by winning this year’s Thunderpick World Championship. They faced off against HEROIC in a best-of-five grand final and won the series 3-1 to take home the $500,000 prize. The MongolZ were very confident going into the grand final as they boasted a dominant form the entire tournament, dropping just two maps overall.

CS2 came as an update for CS: GO, but it was also an entirely new game in the Counter-Strike series. It brought a variety of new features while keeping the essence of the game and all the elements that made fans fall in love with the series. But CS2 also made people switch from the old version of the game to a new one. Moreover, those who never had access to CS: GO can only download the new CS2 game from Steam.
