The IEM Cologne 2022 champions, FaZe Clan, are a well-known North American group. A squad with a 72% winning percentage and a 28% losing record during the previous month. Let's examine the team's progress in the Blast Premier: Fall 2022 competition.
FaZe Clan 2.0: Blast Premier: Fall 2022

Rapid start

The former champs easily defeated EG and Heroic in their first two games. However, something went awry with the team's strategy after that, as they fell to Heroic 16:10 before losing to OG. In the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022, the OG team unexpectedly upset FaZe Clan 2-1 to advance to the Play-In round. To compete for a spot in the BLAST Fall Finals, RobbaN's charges next headed to the Last Chance grid.

FaZe vs OG

The OG team's decision for the first match's starting location was the Ancient map. Ruggah's team initially had no success, but as the game drew closer to a switch of sides, they managed to gather strength and even take the lead (8:7). It appeared as though FaZe Clan would come alive in the second half. However, OG really succeeded in deducing their enemy's strategy and taking the series lead at 16:10.

The Mirage map was the next stop for the teams, and FaZe Clan chose it. The map where the North American team has a win percentage of almost 72%. This time, though, there was no mystery as Karrigan and his team started to advance with a powerful strike. RobbaN's wards consequently played well in the first half and won both games, 10-5. OG attempted to enter the competition after the switch of sides but in vain. The game was defeated 16 to 9 by FaZe Clan, who comfortably and quickly concluded it.

On the Inferno map, where OG attempted to start, everything was decided. The experience stood out at the key moment, helping FaZe Clan to come up to their rival and reduce the backlog to a minimum of 8:7. On this map, Faze Clan is unafraid no matter what. But not everything turned out as expected.

As the team OG swiftly built up the finances and pulled ahead after switching sides, interest quickly vanished from view. As a consequence, Nexa and company won spectacularly and advanced to the last Play-In round, 16-11. Following that, Faze participated in the last-chance encounter and played Astralis.

The opening game of the last game day began on the FaZe Clan-selected map Inferno. In the meantime time, the first half ended in a close contest, despite the "hosts" holding a little 8:7 edge. After the sides were switched, though, all of it fell into place as RobbaN's soldiers rapidly took the initiative and routed the Danes. As a result, FaZe Clan comfortably covered their personal spades and won the game 16 to 9 to take the series lead. They didn't commit any of the blunders they did in the game with OG upon that map.

FaZe vs Astralis

The teams then proceeded to the Ancient stage, which was ultimately chosen by Astralis. However, even though the Danish squad had such an early lead at halftime, FaZe Clan members nearly switched sides and reduced their advantage to as little as 8 to 7. Following the switch of sides, the players resumed swapping rounds while delaying the whole deck's distribution for a while. Astralis appeared on the verge of defeating their rival, and even the series score at one point.

Nevertheless, the FaZe Clan players pulled off a semi-comeback to force overtime in the series. But, the Danes prevailed in this situation and carried the contest to the third map, 19:16.

Summary

Everything was determined on the map where Faze had the best-winning %, Nuke. Players from the FaZe Clan had perfect control during the initial half of the game. The Danish squad attempted to reenter the game after the switch of sides, but it was unsuccessful. FaZe Clan, as a consequence, achieved a significant triumph and secured their place in the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022 - 16:10. In the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022, FaZe Clan defeated Astralis 2-1 because of their excellent team play.

The Danish squad finishes seventh to ninth overall, earning a spot in BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2022.
